I have to admit I did not put it together, (a friend did that) but once done it was great for my two (now) three year old. It is a sturdy enough to take his constant flipping over the foot board and I love to store his things in the trundle. Its a bed that you will also have no trouble passing on to the next child or selling to someone one as it is a very expensive looking bed that cost me practically nothing
